She began to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York City when she was 11. Five years later, Angelina moved out on her own and worked as a professional model. She appeared in music videos for The Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz and Meat Loaf.
As the acting bug continued to bite, Angelina moved back to Los Angeles and took parts in several student films directed by her brother, James Haven, who was attending the University of Southern California film school. By 2000, Angelina had married another actor, Billy Bob Thornton, and earned an Oscar for her work in Girl, Interrupted. Currently, Angelina is divorced from Thornton and raising her adopted baby, Maddox, on her own.
